CCAA

OKLAHOMA CITY, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph Cala, Chairman and CEO of
Cala Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CCAA) today announced that Cala
Corporation has acquired a 51% interest in B-Tec of Italy. B-Tec of Italy,
Inc. is the owner of an exclusive manufacturing agreement with E-Tech of the
United States allowing for the production of their cutting edge cellular
battery technology in Italy.
The first manufacturing plant is scheduled to be built in San Cataldo,
Sicily. The plant is expected to employ more than 400 people, drawn mostly
from the local region. Mr. Cala stated that this project qualifies for
special Italian government incentives that provide grants for up to 80% of
land and construction costs. This type of government grant specifically
targets certain areas of Italy for increased outside investment and employment
opportunities. Cala Corporation has retained Dr. Alessandro Aitala to serve
as a liaison with the Italian government to secure grant funding.
Over the past eighteen years, E-Tech, Inc. has evolved into an
internationally respected manufacturer and supplier of battery manufacturing
equipment and technology. The company has developed a total of 29 alkaline
production lines for Duracell and Ray-O-Vac. E-Tech has since developed
nickel cadmium and nickel metal hydride manufacturing processes which are the
focal point of its exclusive agreement with B-Tec of Italy.
E-Tech has proven that it can successfully export its technology abroad.
In China, several E-Tech joint ventures have yielded significant revenues from
the production of batteries, battery packs, and electrodes. A feasibility
study, commissioned and paid for by the United States Trade and Development
Agency, has been implemented to study a similar technology transfer in Russia.
Under this agreement, E-Tech will provide B-Tec with the equipment,
technology, training, installation, warranties, and assist in marketing the
final rechargeable battery packs. The technology produced by B-Tec will be
compatible with cellular phones produced by such industry leaders as Nokia,
Motorola, and SamSung.
