I agree, depending on stock selection and your time horizon. Ron, I'm afraid you get an "F". Your comment indicates that you have made assumptions with limited information because you haven't read the whole story. No big deal.

I disagree. You can make money with $1k, just not as an active trader. You pick one good long term stock and buy and hold. If you had put $1k in to CSCO 5 years ago for example you would have over $21k now.
