Sure, of course. But the general proposition we are questioning is whether people are living longer as a whole and the fact is yes, they are. The observation you are making is the one Cobalt made. Statistically, the life expectancy for the same group is going to keep increasing (baring something crazy happening) if you recalculate the life expectancy for the remaining survivors at any point down the line. It is Darwinism in action. The longer you stay in the game the longer you and your surviving group will be expected to remain in the game because the losers are dropping out and stop dragging down the averages.
