GV,

Actually, the power of analysts to move stocks and help formulate public opinion is a very recent phenomena that closely parallels the greater individual presence in the market.

I remember. Starting about 6-7 years ago, the Kurlacks could issue an up/down grade and the stock would sometimes be effected for months. This influence has steadily diminished, and I think Tony is right, part of it is the availability of information on the Net.

My guess is that the individual investors now have learned what the professional investors already knew.

The majority of investors are much more sophisticated than they were when I first started reading the message boards.

The ownership of US corporations, and the way equities are exchanged, have undergone dramatic changes in a very short time, and it looks like there are more changes to come.
