There are great artists who are whimsical, such as Paul Klee and Joan Miro, and Matisse frequently displays joie de vivre. Heck, one of the sweetest paintings I know is by Picasso, The Three Musicians, and it could be fairly called cute. But none of them are so trite and filled with cheap sentiment as the Geddes photo you linked..........

To me, Geddes doesn't really qualify as kitsch, but her stuff is just too contrived for me to enjoy. The babies are cute, but I'd rather just see babies, not babies dressed up like bees or butterflies. I have a similar reaction to the guy who photographs those dogs wearing people clothes - is that Wegman?
