yes, this is an interesting contrarian view of EU enlargement to the east...i agree btw. with the basic premise that accepting these potentially high-growth former eastern bloc states into the Union could turn out to be a boon. conventional wisdom has it that enlargement of the Union to include these countries will be harmful because they're not 'ready' to join.

The redistribution of ECB gold to Eastern Europe is a necessary step. Poland a big buyer of gold lately. Wait a minute... What does gold have to do with this?

Most don't realize that there has been no net outfow of gold from Europe. The ECB selling just moved it around a bit. NA is a net exporter of gold, and beginning in Sept. that really picked up.
