Random note on video hangups.....Many months ago I got one of those fat MS Intellimouse models and set it to use one of the alternative pointer schemes because it looked cooler than the MS standard mouse pointer. Other than a slight flicker in the pointer occasionally everything worked fine.

Flash to last month....I got DSL and have been irritated by frequent random hangups when accessing sites. Calls to tech support and questions here got no answers, and I really thought it was a problem in SWBell's system.

Tonight I thought for the pure hell of it I'd switch back to the standard MS mouse pointer. Guess what??? I haven't had a hangup in hours and the dang screens are loading MUCH faster than before. A WHOLE LOT FASTER!!!

It's possible that tonight at exactly the same time I switched my pointer style SWBell tweaked their system or something, but I doubt it. I've got to believe that that fancy but flickering mouse pointer was causing a bit of a video problem that might have been behind all the irritation.

Man it's nice when you accidentally fix something.(g)
