Bishop says Corriente now a better prospect

Robert Bishop, writing in Fax-Alert No. 164 of May 11,
has faith in Corriente Resources, saying he expects
those buying near the current lows are likely to be
rewarded, although not as quickly or as handsomely as
buyers two months ago. Mr. Bishop recommended the
stock seven times between June, 1994 ($1.36) and
September, 1999 (80 cents); the latter was also his
lowest-price buy tip on the stock. The highest was
$4.35 in October, 1996. He says the market has been
discounting a discovery in recent weeks, and the initial
results from the Rio Zamora project in southern Ecuador
failed to stop the slide. "With the market already
factoring a discovery into CTQ's share price, and the
news good but not nearly good enough, it was not
surprising to see the stock decline in the wake of the
news," Mr. Bishop says. The market had factored much
higher expectations into CTQ's price and once the
momentum of Corriente was reversed, the stock found
itself down 63 per cent from recent highs. He says that
with the frothy premium off the stock, now is a much
better time to buy.
