you know, aikman is the best qb galloway could have throwing to him. i would simply run joey to death with windsprints in practice and have him run the flag route every time. with the rocket on the other side this has to be a speed nightmare for opposing defenses. who cares if they're a bit less than totally professional if they're faster than everyone on the field and there are two of them? i'm not saying ishmael is unprofessional, just that he might have less-than-the-best hands. galloway has been known to 'dog it' but certainly with both of them you could be deadly with aikman back there and the stifling conservatism of that last head coach gone. perhaps the cowboys really will be something but now their cornerback depth is suspect. i've heard that there are problems with each of the 3 rookie cbs they drafted... that each has a specific weakness and is a project. hopefully the cowboys' new coaching staff is up to the task. that could be a tough division with philly making progress. the giants are a mystery. i thought they were going 'west coast' but their first rounder daine is '4 yards and cloud of dust.'

maybe they're trying a variation of the 'holmgren west coast' which is 'finesse passing and smash-mouth running' as for seattle and the power running game i like to think that the ghost of ground chuck is still here and alive somewhere. with watters teaching that kid alexander we could have a great tandem. if watters can just put his ego down a little bit and be willing to shift into a lesser on-the-field role and greater off-the-field role perhaps this year that would be just the catalyst to create a happy offense in the clubhouse. perhaps next year watters would be willing to take substantially less just to stay on with the 'hawks as a 3rd down specialist. maybe he just wants to get 300+ 'touches' a year until he can't do it any more. he hasn't slowed down too much but needs to get rid of the stutter-step.

apparently wr dawkins is being offered much less than the 1.9 mil he made last year. those last-year's drops are costly at contract time.

there is talk of bringing gilbert brown here. i used to be against the idea but with the departure of adams i think it would be a worthy experiment to put brown under holmgren and defensive wiz sidwell. that's what makes this upcoming season so exciting... steve sidwell.
