Richard: OT, LOL! Communist have never had common sense or logic Yah....true, but baby once they get into power they hold onto it like it was their first newborn child. At least this is their history. Just another example of mankinds dead-end experiments in political novelty, albeit one which has cost millions of lives. Be that as it may...China is something different. China has always been....China. Regardless of the political "cloak" it wears. An insular people who invented the worlds first bureaucratic state. And its been their strength, and their weakness, ever since. It'll be interesting to see what happens to their political system as that certain, now ancient, WWII generation completes its "die off" and leaves the country in the hands of a fair percentage of folk educated in the west, not to mention a set of people roughly handled by that aforementioned generation. Democracy? Hmmmmm....hard to say, as the one constant in their history has been that vastly centralized bureaucratic system they, as a collective, kow tow to from generation to generation, whatever its guise. Still, it'll probably have the smell of democratic processes.....but it will most probably also be something different...and decidely Chinese in temperament. And from the outside looking in(from the Wests perspective), it'll probably always be something of a rubics(spelling?) cube of a puzzle. Ohhh....and I say all this based on having spent 16 years, early on in life, all over that part of the planet. I will have to say I wish our political leaders, as well as business ones, would stop with the prostitution of themselves to that system of government. History has proven the value in doing that, eh? Regards! John~
