The five modes you are talking about and those who claim to be IP holders have not demonstrated what so ever they can achieve the speed of voice and data specs of 3G.The only true,feasible 3g upgrade with demonstrated capability and scheduled for roll out is CDMA.Guess who own all the essential patents of any Flavor of CDMA.Guess who also has about a 3 to 5 year head start on chip design on the rest.

The same process qcom went through a few years ago.FUD by NOKIA/Docomo but eventually they will have to step up and prove their claims.I would not bet on it.

OBTW China stated they will go with CDMA2000.Guess who own that.Unfortunately the media only reports half the story.
