A Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs) spokeswoman said the company expects China still to be a big market for its CDMA technology, despite published reports that China Unicom won?t be deploying it in the near future. Qualcomm had signed an agreement with China?s second largest cell phone company outlining the framework under which CDMA will be licensed, she said. The agreement calls for deployment of narrow-band CDMA1 as well as the next generation CDMA2000. Shares rose 3/8 to 67 5/8 in after-hours trading.
