Ted,

Why do I get the impression that Intel was looking for reason for not committing fab capacity to Timna (profitless product), in order not to lose shirt in the mainstream desktop market, and the MTH was a good excuse?

expensive Pentium III chips.>

With demand apparently exceeding supply I have been wondering if we might see a bias towards supplying more of the higher-end processers (by AMD & INTC). AMD also appears to be leaving the very low end it occupied with the K6 as the Durons are priced considerably higher.

It was also nice to see that the lowest "official" Athlon price was over $300. AMD seems to be definitely moving up the price ladder and ASP could see a real jump in 3Q.
