Tony and Intel investors,
The following are excerpts from Prudential's Semiconductor Conference held in London. Report was issued today by Mosemann et. al. (6/5/00).

1. Intel gave the lead-off presentation and re-iterated its aggressive posture regarding capacity expansion over the next two years to meet the strong demand trends.

2. Micration from 0.18 micron to 0.13 is expected to be in full volume by 2002.

3. Next generation 32 bit microarchitecture (Williamette) is on track for introduction in the second half of this year at speeds of 1.2 GHz plus.

4. The company (Intel) expressed its view that the current semiconductor upcycle could extend further than past cycles, given the explosive growth in Internet and wireless communications.

5. Prudential re-iterated STRONG BUY recommendation.

Regards,
Ibexx

PS: Sorry I could provide the URL as report is proprietary.

According to this, the migration to .13u will be slower than we expected, Willamette will be introduced at 1.2 GHz (down from 1.5, 1.4, 1.3 - take your pick)

Hmm... This doesn't start as a good week for Intel. First we have Boxed Xeons pulled, next we have Timna delayed, then we have leak of Willy prototype running at 800 MHz, not performing very well, now we have reduction in the initial clock speed of Willy, slower migration to .13u process.

And it's only Monday.

Joe
