Hi all; IBM preps Transmeta notebook
IBM says it will show off a ThinkPad using Transmeta's Crusoe low-power chip at PC Expo this month, but has stopped short of committing to use the processor in its flagship notebook line.

Lest anyone slip into the delusion of hoping that this will finally be the machine that introduces RDRAM to the laptop market, remember the following PR from the beginning of the year:

For Transmeta confirmed that Rambus was off the agenda, as far as Crusoe is concerned, not just now ? but probably for good. The Crusoe North Bridge is ready for SDRAM and DDRAM, and the word from official Transmeta management is that DDRAM "has a great future".

Carl,

Another one you can add to the list is AMD dual processor chip 760 MP, that is due Q4 2000. (This chip is some times called 770 on some roadmaps)
