Uh...... Cisco's position in optics is a different discussion. I thought the topic was the law suits. You are right - Cisco is new to the optics game. Actually that makes them a start-up (and they are acting like one given their acquistions and ramping to a $1B+ run rate in less than 2 years)... not an "old world" company.

Think about it. Optics is a new untapped market for Cisco and Cisco is pretty good at generating success in the markets they target. So, I read Cisco's entre into the optical market as simply more upside potential for Cisco and less for the incumbents. But then this is another discussion.... like I said - I thought the topic was the frivolous and ridiculous lawsuits filed by ALA as a tactic to slow down what they recognize as the mother of all start-ups coming right after them!
