30 Leading Marine Suppliers Sign-Up for Marex.Com's New E-Commerce Product

Marex.Com Introduces MarexPO! the Company's E-Commerce

Solution for Marine Suppliers

MIAMI, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Miami-based Marex.com (OTC Bulletin Board: MRXX), the marine industry's leading business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce company, today announced signed agreements with 30 marine suppliers who will be first to utilize MarexPO!, the company's new sell-side e-commerce solution.

The list of participating suppliers includes: 3M Corporation; Ancor Products, Inc.; Aquaworld Products; Centek Industries, Inc.; Charging Systems International; Electric Supply & Equipment Co.; Foam Enterprises; General Propeller Company; G.G. Schmitt & Sons Marine Hardware, Inc.; Keith Eickert Power Products; Kracor Inc.; Lawrence Industries; Marine Audio Engineering and Sales Inc.; Marine Fasteners Inc.; Marinetics Corp.; Maxwell Winches; Mayfair Performance Group; Metalcraft Inc. (Seafire); Myco Trailer; Offshore Marine Laboratories, Inc.; Piedmont Plastics, Inc.; Raritan Engineering Company Inc.; Schmitt Marine Steering Wheels, Inc.; Suncor Stainless Inc.; Syntec Industries; Todd Marine Products Inc.; Tracy International and Ultra Panel Marine.

MarexPO! offers suppliers and distributors a comprehensive and integrated e-commerce capability, enabling them to sell new parts, supplies, components and equipment to boat builders and other marine businesses through Marex.com's web-based transaction system. By utilizing a thorough registration and outfitting process for suppliers and buyers, the system recognizes the unique relationships between companies and provides only the supplier's product information and pricing that is appropriate for each buyer.

MarexPO! facilitates catalog data conversion, order processing, order tracking, and returns processing, and provides suppliers with management reports such as Orders Received, Orders Shipped and Late Orders.

"We are excited by the marine industry's rapid support of MarexPO!" said Mel Meinhardt, Marex.com's vice president of products. "These 30 suppliers will be among the first in the marine industry to reap the benefits of B2B e-commerce. They will likely earn a competitive advantage in the marketplace through greater operating efficiencies and through broad exposure to the worldwide market."

3M Corporation is the marine industry's leading provider of abrasives, tapes, adhesives and safety products. According to Joe Parks, national sales manager for 3M Marine, Marex.com's approach fits with 3M's philosophy of being active in every purchasing channel used by their customers.

"We want to make our products easily available based on the preferences of our customers," Parks said. "Since we are impressed with the quality of the relationships that Marex.com has established with key suppliers and boat- building organizations, we look forward to participating in their system and utilizing their products."

Raritan Engineering Company, Inc. is a global manufacturer of equipment for pleasure boats including waste treatment systems, marine toilets, icemakers and water heaters. According to Kim Shinn, IT director for Raritan, "Marex.com is taking a big step in improving the efficiency of purchasing agents. Many buyers spend hours looking through books, catalogs and searching various sites on the Internet. Marex.com will enable them to easily get all of the information they need in one location and then place and track orders on the same site. This is a huge step for the industry and Raritan is excited about the future possibilities that Marex.com will provide."

John Bennett is the market development manager for Centek Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of wet marine exhaust systems and components utilizing fiberglass-reinforced resins. Bennett believes that Marex.com can eliminate the need for his company to invest in an e-commerce site of its own.

"It's not feasible that our company would invest the seven-figure sum required to create a fully functional e-commerce offering for our market. Marex.com is making the upfront investment for the benefit of the entire industry and providing companies like Centek with a turnkey e-commerce strategy and capability," said Bennett.

According to Meinhardt, "We realize that in order for MarexPO! to be a successful e-commerce solution, suppliers need to maintain control of their data and their distribution chain. This product was built around delivering that type of control. It meets the needs of suppliers by providing their customers with a rich and personalized buying experience that will lead to increased sales. The product also allows suppliers to integrate e-commerce with their existing ERP system if desired; and for those suppliers who serve multiple industries, MarexPO! will ultimately be able to interconnect with other trading exchanges as well."

Thanks Trendmastr for the article. This could lead to some very exciting new products. We had talked about this 4 or 5 months ago on this thread, how Ancor should work on incorporating DWDM into a Director. I had seen an article from Sorrento a month or two ago, about a new 64 Channel DWDM and it made me pause, and think wow, that would be perfect for Ancor's 64 Port Director, I wonder if they created it with that in mind since no other DWDM suppliers have come up with a 64 Channel that I know of, then I said, nah that would be just too good to be true, since I also own Osicom/Sorrento. I think this could be very positive news going forward.
