Yup Doc, and check the charts on many of these for an idea what might happen as the fed fears ease. Some incredible charts even on the little ones you don't hear much about.

The sale was Wednesday July 29, 1998. I remember that day well<g>.

FWIW, I closed out both positions of ALA June 40 calls for reasons I detailed on the ALA thread. Will reestablish DEC/Jan positions if it were to hit 55 and double those mid-fifties. Year-end target 75-80. I only closed these as they were June options with a nice profit (7 bagger on one position and 2.5 on other) and we have the feds making noise again.

Also closed out 1/3 of my heavily averaged ALSC July 20 calls at 7.5 for basically the same reasons. This one could be ready for a nice pop to the mid thirties over the next 45 days or so IMO.

Am buying DEC/JAN CTL options over the next two days. Downside minimal, target stock double in 6-12 months. Lost some money on positions I purchased earlier, but expect this one will be a winner. CTL is mentioned in some of the same stories as ALSC, CS, and ALA. Most recent is Mario Gabelli comments in current Barrons.

Also going to buy one last batch of Jan '01 CPQ 30 calls in the 4 area over the next two days...still sticking to my year end target of 45-50. Looking at other prospects as I now have a bunch of cash...only buying DEC/JAN options at this point other than a rare gamble. What are you guys doing lately?

I'm up about 10% on the year...I'm happy. Many of my value plays either contributed or held their ground well throughout the bloodbath. Hope you guys have weathered the storm of late well.
