buck,

Thanks to an Event, I will become the owner of some riverfront rangeland on the Brazos in a week.

Barring that you came by the land as a result of an inheritance that causes sadness, I'm interested to know what the event is. My guess is that you learned the hard way about not forgetting the delivery date on rangeland futures.

By the way, where the heck are the Brazos? And what are Brazos?

buck,

work smarter, not harder(R):

deere.com

Left hand column, just below 'new equipment', is 'used equipment'. Follow that link to auctions or "machine finder" (free membership)

(and now for the curmudgeonly part):
... and don't get no stinkin orange tractor. Real farmers drive green.

<<where can I find a tractor and brush hog?>>

I'm not even gonna ask what a "brush hog" is, for fear it will turn out to be some strange rural sexual diminutive. My real questions are whether the river has channels and what you are planning regarding storage...

Buck, I wouldn't be looking for a brush hog/tractor on the web. I would go to the "Brazos Picayune Daily Times" (or whatever) and look in the want ads. You can find old tractors that have been well cared for or newer tractors that just need a little TLC. Get a Ford or a John Deere. One of those orange Jap craps might work, too, but they are butt ugly.

Get a Ford 8N
Even with a brush hog, shouldn't run you more than $2500. I looked at a new tractor that cost $14,000. Lost interest when the guy told me it would do everything a 8N would.
