If I had the chance to add only one person to the list it would be Nelson Mandela. The anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa over time held the world's interest and was an example of the beginning of the correction of a societal evil. I would suggest his status is similar to Lech Walesa.

My personal bias would be to sacrifice representatives from the arts, especially motion pictures, to make room for lions of political and social change.
