200 day sma is at 64.9

Doesn't matter. TA is almost worthless with gold.

The 290-300 level is important because that's where the weak shorts begin to cover.

i see your query has been answered w.r.t. the XAU...i 'm not sure where the PoG's 200 dma is. in commodities the 200-day is not commonly used...
