another thought is that Intel is using MTH/Rambus as an "excuse" to delay Timan on purpose

I had almost the same thought. It doesn't seem like it should take Intel until next year to solve the MTH problem (BWDIK). With all they have on their plate (Willy and Itanium), maybe it was a priority decision to delay Timna that long, and free up some resources. It sure seems like they need to change something, this Keystone Kops execution act is getting old.

Thanks to Intel for that. We often on this thread complain about Intel not coming to their own defense, like EMC and Cisco often do, when there's some negative news out there. Hey, where's Mary Cluney lately?
