Just a comment on the food quality as well, if I had to pick it would be hands down EU, at least where I have been [Germany/Austria/Switz/France]... Now I know it's a far reach to claim the subsidies create 'better product', but the fact remains the food supply is better there IMO, although good fresh locally grown produce is starting to sprout up in the U.S.
