Close but no cigar. That is an SHDSL modem. Not based on Aware. Atleast it is good that Intel is making some kind of DSL modem. Our Aware based modems must not be far off. Why would they get this modem out first when the standards are not even set yet? Does not make sense to me. G.shdsl is scheduled to be formally approved by the ITU in Q4, 2000. The new G.shdsl standard provides higher speed, longer reach and improved compatibility over today's symmetrical DSL technology. Designed for servicing the small and medium business customer, G.shdsl will allow network operators to reach more customers with DSL and provide a more reliable service. Perry P.
