Letters-of-intent have been signed with each company. The same-day package-delivery industry consists of approximately 100,000 companies across North America, with combined annual revenues of $82-billion (U.S.). Under an option agreement, CanAlaska Ventures Ltd. can earn up to a 40-per-cent interest in WebDispatchers. WebDispatchers has developed an easy-to-use Web-based system that utilizes the latest in application-service-provider (ASP) concepts and Oracle technology. Users require only a Web-browser and an Internet connection. Pricing is done on a per-transaction basis allowing small package-delivery companies access to state-of-the-art technology at a minimal cost. Tantalus Communications (www.tantalus.com), under contract to WebDispatchers, will begin Phase I testing next week, and implementation will begin in July. Negotiations with other North American same-day companies are continuing. In addition to WebDispatchers, CanAlaska has also invested in NewGurus.com Inc., a new media company utilizing Internet technology to provide expert opinion and analysis of news and current events. NewGurus has developed a dynamic database-driven Web site that categorizes and centralizes opinions and thoughts of a wide-ranging group of experts. Initially focused on areas of finance and investment, plans exist for additional modules providing trusted commentary in the areas of health and wellness, and lifestyles.
