Jan, are you familiar with the Ameritrade online investor index? ameritradeindex.com It shows the activity of people investing online through Ameritrade (excluding daytraders), and is presumably representative of the general investing public. Generally they are big sellers on up days (like last week) and big buyers on down days. What puzzles me is that it doesn't seem to correlate very well with the sentiment here on SI. This seems like something that ought to be useful. Was last week's rally all driven by the pros, as the index suggests? Would appreciate your thoughts.
