Many a regurgitated mathematical model has been applied to the ultimate chaotic environment (the market and the psychological impetus which drives it).

I read somewhere that one camp embraces these types of narrow, only-valid-for-this-nth-condition case formulae and erroneously expect them to squirt out the future. I'm not in that camp. In fact, several of these models genuinely amuse me.
