Q. Are there any plans to increase the frontside bus on the Thunderbird-Athlon
line in the near future? What Frontside Bus can we expect in the future for Athlon?

A. Yep, just to make it clear. :-) We have plans to move the frontside bus to 266MHz during the second half of the year when we release the AMD-760 chipset. In addition to the faster bus speed, we will also include support for DDR memory and AGP4X.

(snip)

Q. Finally, AMD seems to be a supporter of DDR SDRAM, when can we expect
systems incorporating DDR SDRAM and Thunderbird and how much of a
performance boost can we expect when both are coupled?

A.The first AMD chipset that will support DDR memory is the AMD-760, which is planned to be available during 2H00. As for the performance boost, it is impossible to give good numbers on that until the chipset and motherboards that use the chipset are enter into production.
