Are you talking about those who write articles about ATHM or about all professional paid mouths commenting about the stock market?

I think you got the magazine article writing thing wrong.

It appears that these authors take an obvious effect, such as price, or management defections, and then attempt to assign a cause.

All they actually do is copy each other's article. The Fortune article, for example, contains paragraphs that are almost a direct quote from other articles. I spent about 30 min trying to find the old article but gave up. I remember the words because the original was so wrong.

Basically, they take a bunch of magazines and newspapers, spread them out on a table and piece together a new article that is a snippet from here and a snippet from there. Magazines don't make money on journalism. They make money on ads (ie circulation). Bad news gets eyes quicker than lukewarm good news.

I hope you don't think these guys have enough education to understand the basics of the net. Right now they are probably explaining to the world what the bioengineering business is all about.
