I don't think 25% of bats have rabies, but you aren't supposed to touch bats with your naked hands. Also, if you find one in your house, this article says you should catch it wearing gloves, put it in something like a coffee can, tape it shut and bring it in for testing.

dnr.state.co.us

This article says that 0.5% of bats have rabies.

members.aol.com

This article says that rabid bats kill on average one person per year in the US.

You used Coby-bait to get this response, I suspect.

I agree about the wish to be rid of disease and pain. Sometimes it feels like a full time job. Or maybe I just use it as an excuse. Just taking all the pills I'm supposed to take each day requires an effort. They upset my stomach, so I have to space them out, and take with food. Most days, I don't succeed in taking everything.

<<Oh, we had a bat in the upstsairs, >>

My grandmother used to get bats in her house. Her bathroom had a window near the tall ceiling and she'd chase them into the bathroom and they'd leave through the window.

Mt mother's second cousin was said to have bats in her belfry. I never saw them but she was weird.
