Exactly, my assertion was that the new interactive STBs would send upstream data via the 5MHz and 42MHz band, same as the cable modem upstream, as defined by the DOCSIS standard.

You made an assertion that upstream in new ITV services would occupy a band above 500 MHz. Here is the portion of your original, upstream <g>, post:

These upstream limitations exist in the lower end of the cable spectrum (between 5 MHz and 40 MHz). Note that the new interactive services and digital TV services which will use STBs instead of cable modems, which are beginning to roll out now, are situated in the higher end of the spectrum, typically between 500 MHz and 800 MHz.

Could you point me to the appropriate STB standards group?
