carranza2, well not exactly. In fact the CDMA, which using spread spectrum technology, is in nature spreading narrowband signal onto a wider spread. You have to keep in mind, in compare with TDMA, Analoug, IS-95 is considered to be a wideband technology. And IS-95 is direct sequence.

So the matter is is it wide or wider. And of course the whole spirit of that patent is using wider bandwidth to send narrow bandwidth in general without pin point exactly how wide is wide.
