patron has there EVER been a period when stock options comprised such a large proportion of total compensation I do not know. do you? For the last 10 years I have been aware of wage packages in the high tech arena. Outside of the start-up community, I have not seen a dramatic increase in the number of shares offered employees upon being hired. Now of course, the market has risen dramatically as high tech companies have outperformed historical growth number and been rewarded with ridiculous PE's during that time... tp
