john - if we look at 8P results on 550MHz Xeon from DELL and CPQ, which are in the 40,000 range, versus the 31,000 4P results on an 800MHz box, the scaling looks like 1.75 speed adjusted. But the dynamics above 8P are completely unknown. 150,000 might be a realistic target but with no hardware and no OS, it's just too early to say.

"The whole Nasdaq went down and we went down with it, or you could say the Nasdaq went down when we went down," he said. "And we went down when the judge started talking about breaking us up."

1. Rising interest rates.
2. Overvaluation in general
3. Slow takeup of Win2000.
4. Etc.

This guy is a blowhard and must have lost perspective on reality after making his first billion. It is statements like this that will come back to hurt MSFT in the appeals process. I am glad I liquidated my MSFT holding everytime I see statements like this. I do not know what the eventual outcome of the appeals process will be but these folks are out of touch with reality. This is not good leadership and that should be worrisome to any MSFT shareholder.

All IMO, Bob.
