AIPN: Speculative Delisting Play

Warning: This post may be hazardous to your bank account!

OK, if you're still reading, then I know you like to speculate. <heh heh> Well, have I got a DEAL for you!!! ;-)

LOL!

Seriously, though, if you don't mind taking a real flier every now and then with a little of your ultra-speculative funds, kindly peruse the following...

Form S-3, Dated 6/6/00: Delisting Countdown Begins

freeedgar.com

OUR COMMON STOCK MAY BE DELISTED FROM THE NASDAQ NATIONAL MARKET FOR FAILURE TO SATISFY NASDAQ REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTINUED LISTING

Our common stock is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System. To continue our listing, we are required to maintain net tangible assets of at least $4,000,000 and the bid price of our common stock must be at least $1.00 per share. By letter dated June 5, 2000, NASDAQ notified us that our common stock failed to satisfy its minimum bid price standard for continued listing and we would be delisted if the price of our common stock was not at least $1.00 per share for ten (10) consecutive days by August 14, 2000.

Anyone out there who thinks the market makers on this little gravy train are going to let it get de-listed, please raise your hands?

<Silence!>

IMO, we'll reach $1+ in the next few weeks. So it is written, so it shall be done.

So sayeth the Hog

BigBull,

I've been following a couple of stocks in that group (FS HOT HLT) but also watching the wedge on the industry chart, wondering how far things will go?

BTW Do you ever use WSC? They've got insider trading on the graph.

Bull
Buy the Holiday Inn at Folly Beach and hold the rig party there.
I'd insist on cash at the bar, no tabs.

Hotels? Knowing little about the hotel stocks, but knowing a good bit about real estate, I feel that there has been a huge monopoly game played amongst hotel owners over the last six years with many properties trading several times. As money eased up after the RTC mess and through the recent boom years more and more leverage has become available and with each down tick in interest rates, hotels got flipped back and forth like crazy.

Right now hotel room rates are madly expensive in my opinion and justified only if they are being paid by some corporation using pretax dollars. Mere millionairs operating on their own after tax funds need not apply.

Any real slow down in the economy and I would expect trouble in real estate and particularly in that part of the board called hotel land. I hope I am wrong. That is, I hope we do not see the kind of slow down that would hurt, but I got all out of commercial real estate about a year ago and have no regrets given how flat lease rates have been around here this past year.

That said, the hotel stocks may be another story. Just keep in mind, these guys have leveraged themselves pretty hard.
