Mike,
T has grown in wireless and in Data and some other parts of its business, but the profitable LD has shrunken and so did Earnings. However, with the cable buys, T has set itself up for the future and the relative weight of its LD business is reduced. T is growing Revenues 6-7% this year and this will accelerate in the future, IMHO.
I very much like the telecommunication industry because of the wireless and broadband growth potential but T is not my favorite play - I bought WCOM recently and I also like GTE at the right price 9 (<62$).
Some retailers look like good values plays right now. I like MENS and would also consider Costco at the right price (<26$) as well.
Its hard to find real good value right now, unlike in March when the Techs were the rage.I have blown out most of my biotechs and even my newly acquired VASO after a 35% gain (Thank you!). I'll sit on my cash until I see really compelling buying opportunities. WallStreet is betting on a soft landing slowdown in economy and I am not that sure that will happen...

Anyone have any thoughts,

During the last sell off I picked up a first third of Pixar. I think at $33 or less this is a good buy. The companies balance sheet looks clean and they are the best in the industry at what they do "cartoons". They have a stream of revenue from advertisers as well as contracts with Disney. There is a huge short position in the stock. One of the guys from the Street.com has been recommending shorting the stock. This stock is not going to go to the moon over night and will not satisfy the current wall streets need for immediate gratification, but over time they should grow revenues and profit.

BWDIK,

Joan
