SB, this is the biggest problem this methodology creates: it leads to both the Fed and businessmen making decisions based on what are at best questionable data. the effect on a macro level is presumably an increase in the imbalances plaguing the economy. i think the the often expressed hope that we have somehow turned the clock back and are reliving '94 is going to meet with a rather nasty wake-up call type disappointment... anecdotal process control, LOL! good night...
