Scumbria,

What is this Dirk dinner that several people have been referring to?

Re: "Let's keep things in perspective. The Dirk dinner was less than 1 year ago (at least PDT time.) ;^)
During the last 364 days, AMD has gone from first disclosure to 500MHz to 1GHz to copper and Dresden and T-Bird and Duron, and almost $100 per share.
What has Intel done during this same time?"

Comment: It really is amazing when you let sink in the diverging performances over the past year!!!What's more, there isn't too much on the horizon to suggest that the next 12 months performance trends for these two companies will be anything but accented in the direction of their current (and in opposite direction) trends! But a year from now, perhaps investors will look back at AMD at $90, and lament that they missed an opportunity to invest in an obviously undervalued company, an opportunity that just does not come by very frequently!

Scumbria,

<Let's keep things in perspective. >

Agreed! That's why I took exception to calling the recent launch "perfect". Look back at 800MHz and 850MHz launches and tell me how the recent launch compares. (By the way, I expect Duron launch to be "nearly perfect")

If AMD were to execute like Intel has been doing in the last couple of years it makes no sense to own AMD. That bar is too low.

Look at today, there are concerns about Wilamette not having right infrastructure and AMD goes down.

I see no problem with staying bullish while not ignoring the problems that we are seeing.
