Hi all; Re IP for high speed memory interfaces. The latest EE-Times has a short article about Sonics Inc: eet.com When the SoC is taped out, the backplane becomes essentially a piece of intellectual-property (IP) glue logic tying the chip's blocks together, so Sonics draws an IP royalty. Also mentioned here: eet.com Sonics is hoping to become sort of like Rambus, but for the SOC world instead of the PCB world.
