Frank, from a historical perspective .... I'd like to
interject, with appropriate regret & sadness :-),
that you all have this "Broadband-Narrowband thing" quite some backwards....

In the early to late 1960s -- the FAA distributed their
"Primary Radar" data (analog/analogue Azimuth & Antenna Orientation-"Servo" data) via Radar Microwave Links, to various Air Traffic Control Centers.

The technology was based on such stuff as reflex klystrons
& the like.

In the early 1970s ...
With the advent of Digitized Primary & Secondary-Beacon
Radar ...
technology not unlike what you all are mistakenly
calling Broadband, was named "Narrow-Band Radar" ;
and the 1960s technology was appropriately termed
"Broadband Radar".

So, I'm sure that you can plainly see that you
( once again, it's all too sad to say) must have your terminology somewhat askew.

BTW .. is there really a Narrow-Band to Broad-Band
demarcation point , in the RF LAN or Wireless LL world ??

Regards,
Mardy.
