I can understand how you might fail to see the insights that TA can reveal when picking stocks. I agree that news, rumors, and the like is primarily what drives a stock one way or another, however you cannot discount that stocks tend to trend in one direction or another for varying periods of time. A stock that is large and mostly institutionally driven like HLTH will often make large trending moves over a period of weeks or months. When you see a change of pattern in a trend, like for example, when HLTH just crossed it's 50 DMA to the upside, an awful lot of buy signals go off on people's screens who *do* use TA to determine entry/exit points. (Institutions will be watching for such activity...) That usually is a big indicator that momentum has changed from selling to buying. Remember, big stocks like HLTH (when I mean big, I mean stocks with large floats) tend to move like big ships at sea. They don't usually just turn on a dime (although that is not always true). From a TA point of view, I'd say HLTH is a buy IMO.
