I personally will not make an issue of what it takes to get one's motor running, or one's hobbies during a "dry spell", but I wonder if erotica is essentially art, or incidentally art? I mean, the criterion for good pornography is degree of arousal. It may be that it is also extraordinarily well written, or explores important themes, and thus rises to the level of art, but I would not say that the focus on "lubrication" is conducive to full artistic realization........But, I may add, my experience with erotica is woefully limited........On the other: the stimulus is part of the equation, and it is not pornographic..........
