It is at least 500-700 miles to Borneo (Kalimatan) where there are a few gold mines (Mt. Muro and the amazing Bre-X deposit)
It is at least 3000 miles to the major production at Freeport's Grasberg (Irian Jaya, the Indonesian side of Papau New Guinea, which I think now has a new name)
