Below 20 the box size is .5, therefore we must divide our product by 2..Below 5 is .25, there fore we must divide our product by 4. Above 100 the box size is 2, therefore we must multiply our product by 2.

Let's use AMCC as an example since it crosses into the 2 box area..

OUr buy signal after the sell has 32 Xs in that column. 17 are below and up to 100 and 15 are above 100.

let's do the smaller box size first

17(3)=51 ...box size here is 1 so we CAN multiply it by 1 but there isn't any need

Now above 100 there are 15 Xs:
15(3)=45..box size here is 2 so we WILL multiply it by 2..thus 45(2)=90

OK now let's combine the two:

51 + 90 = 141..now we add this amount to the bottom of the column which gave us our buy sig. That number is 84

84+ 141=225..the PO for AMCC is 225

Hope that helps. My point is that there is that it isn't really necessary to put the "times 1" part of the equation in since it will yield itself. THis is true for Xs between 21 and 100, which have the box size of 1
If I were illustrating for a beginner then I'd put it in to show all the steps.

**NOTE: I like to add the sum, which in this case is 141 to the column at the BOTTOM of the recent basing area..SO I would add 141 to 74 to arrive at what I believe is a more accurate and conservative PO..thus MY PO would be 215 for AMCC.
