Perhaps this news will have negative impact on MOT and Samsung - aren't they also in the business of producing CDMA phones? With MOT's handset margins already in the toilet this extra competition would not be good.

Of more direct relevance to Nokia would be greater competition for GSM phones, I suppose. I promise that I am not a shill but I posted before about a tiny HK-based plastic injection molding company called Deswell (DSWL: I own stock) that has started producing GSM handsets for an unknown customer. I am dying to find out who the customer is.

I think the plan is to arm the Chinese mfgs first, and then proceed, i like this road better.jmho.
