Hi Bryan:

Another "think tank" suggestion.

At the top of each company thread design a neat clock which counts down to the next earnings announcement. Today's might say "35 days till Second Quarter earnings" for Intel.

Best, Michael

Bryan- you may have addressed this on an earlier post, but what happened to the link to real time quotes that used to be at the bottom of the threads??

Thanks!
O

Bryan does the new deal with "talkway" that go2net recently entered into mean that someday soon we might be able to add a short video clip to a written message here on SI?

excerpt from article

"As part of the agreement, Talkway will integrate and customize a complete video solution based on Go2Net's specifications. The PersonalTalk service that will
support Go2Net boasts an infrastructure that includes record and playback technology, as well as hosting, distribution and expert customer service."

What is going on with SI? I like the new interface but if you guys can't get it together and operational I'd rather have the old one back. This is bad.

Sorry :-(

Bryan I think you have to take the moderated thread idea further.... a moderated thread's limitation is that it offends some people....those excluded are bound to find out about it, and after that inclined to dislike that member who excluded them...that does not promote harmony in the community and ultimately might decrease traffic to your site.
Because we user's know we may offend, we are not likely to use the moderated thread concept in its present format.

The only solution is to have completely private threads called the "underground". Sure you're thinking well no one but the underground user's can "see" that so if too popular it might make open traffic disappear and ultimately discourage new users but I don't think so........there already is a form of underground communication already called "pming" and that certainly hasn't hurt anything now has it???.....all this new format would do is make "pming" better by allowing easy and private group communication.....
