Don't forget that, under such conditions, individuals have more freedom to act, too. Of course they do... individuals form corporations. Yes, a "corporation" from a a legal point of view, is a separate entity, nevertheless... such "entities" are formed by individuals who control them, manage them, etc. etc. It is laughable that people refer to corporations as "evil" and/or that "the corporate world" is the cause of all evil... he he he... Newsflash ! Corporations, ARE people either the people who manage them, or the shareholders who own them. It is wrong that there should be the concept of double taxation, first Corporate tax, and then, the dividends, (which is money already taxed), are taxed again under the individual's income tax. Who devices such laws... ? THE POLITICIANS Them are the real evil. <g>it's Congress that writes the code, not the IRS. I would imagine the IRS is even more frustrated by all the changes and contradictions in the code than you are. Yes, I knew that, perhaps I was not clear enough in my wording, I simply used the term "the IRS" since it is the institution. As for, "the IRS being more frustrated than I..." ha ha ha... allow me to laugh at such comic idea. As bureaucrats, I doubt such changes make much difference to them... and FOR SURE, MY degree of frustration and sense of waste, everytime I write one of them checks... can not be compared to a mere "inconvenience" the IRS would have in collecting such money, be this under the regular tax, the alternative minimum tax, or any other b.s. scheme the real gestapo of American civilization could devise in order to force me to part with my cherished money. [I can cry very easily about it]. <g> Yes, Aunt Karen, I know it is Congress who writes the damned code, the greatest absurdities of all times. Then again, are most of our dear legislators not lawyers ? ____________ ~ "Unquestionably, there is progress. The average American now pays out twice as much in taxes as he formerly got in wages." ~ It is Tertullian who is credited with the motto, Credo, quia absurdum est: I believe because it is incredible. Needless to say, he began life as a lawyer." Both, by Henry Louis Mencken.
