I think we agree on everything you said. Except the abortion is murder thing- I suppose you could call it murder- it is the taking of a human human life (or a potential human life) with premeditation- but I happen to think some types of murder are ok- like self defense. I see abortion as analogous to self defense- and I wouldn't have one myself- We agree on everything X. Re-read my post, I did not equate abortion to murder, I was merely asking your average joe, what he meant by his statement that I copy here:Also with regards to abortion I think it should be left in the hands of women to decide not men. I also think the terminology is wrong. Call it legalized murder, because technically abortion is not induced in the wild kingdom. To which, I responded with:Say what ? Please explain this part. Are you saying that each individual woman, (who controls such decision, as per your own statement), is a murderer ? Or... is it murder BECAUSE in the animal kingdom induced abortion does not exist ? For the record... No, I do not state that abortion is murder at all. In fact, I view it more on the lines of your view. Although I have never considered the specific self defense concept, it makes sense. I have considered it from a practical planning alternative for poor families who do not have the resources to support a new child, (or an additional 3rd. 4th, 5th. whatever...) particularly in the third world. In addition, in the instances where very young individuals are involved, I consider a stupid sacrifice of three lives, (the mother, the unwanted child, and the father in those instances in which the guy "sticks around"). I would not want to see "abortion" as a formalized and established form of "birth control" (since there are far better methods). But in the particular case of the third world, (and even in specific cases in the so called "first world" as well), abortion is the last resort in which to stop this madness of senseless reproduction. So, No X, I do not consider abortion as murder. We agree, (as far as that post is concerned), 100 %
