OT
Frank,
I couldn't agree more with the bulk of your post. However, we should continue to remind the thread about MEXP because Slider made such a stink about the company back then and he was the one who dug the hole that he ended up in.

You are right that it makes sense to wade through a lot of the bullcrap that Slider posts to glean the real information. You are right that there have been major opportunities to make real good money following some of Sliders picks. But we shouldn't stick our heads in the sand and forget his errors. There should be a balance between the good, the bad and the ugly. Dragging out the MEXP type calls offers this balance, because not all of Sliders call are as timely as he would lead us to believe.

Just my ankle biting, overly jealous, uninformed opinion.

Michael

OT: Frank
Was your post meant to be addressed to me instead of Razorbak. If so please read my original post again, it's not meant as a dig on Slider.
Since you seem to read Slider's posts with the same level of interest as myself I am surprised that you have not come to the conclusion that he has a far better sense of humor than most here. IMO if half of the people he plays ping pong with had a sense of humor and did not take themselves so seriously things would not escalate to the degree they do.
Someone bites his ankles and he gives them a stick in the eye. Now instead of returning the favor in the spirt of the 3 stooges the recipient cries foul to a stick in the eye ???
Second to you, I would say I am Slider's biggest fan. (Hope you smiled and did not frown to that)
I am sorry Frank I did not intend to offend anyone with my post, some girls don't invest well, I thought $.3 per share per MMcfe/d was a new valuation metric for NG E&Ps.

Hey should I have posted this on Razorbak's Slider On The Black thread ?

Irt -- Slider's Record ---

Frank, I am always a bit uneasy when someone seems to buy into Slider's view of his own past performance, as you seem to have done.

I will agree that Slider has brought up many ideas worth looking into.
And he should be credited for that.
He's made some good calls.
----But he's made a number of bad calls too.
A number of them; Not just MEXP.
So have we all.
But Slider likes to present himself as having been much more right more often than has been the fact.

I strongly suggest that anyone reading this thread who believes Slider has a great record of past performance., and that he fairly and accurately describes his own record, should go back and look through the thread with charts at hand.
---Go back into the critical points of '98 and '99 and earlier this year and read what was written here then.
---Don't just accept what Slider tells you he said and did in the past.
Go back and see for yourself -- reading with a critical eye.

Slider wouldn't deserve to be faulted for his bad calls. His record is not bad, all in all.
---But he (and you) want to paint it as A Whole Lot Better Than It Is, and this should be challenged.

---Imho, Slider is a valuable contributor to this thread.
I always read his posts and I've profited from some of his ideas.
---But it should never be forgotten by the reader that he is also dishonest in his claims about his own record, and he is more a salesman than an analyst in describing the characteristics of stocks he owns/likes.

regards,
diana

<<Given his track record only a fool would not take a serious look>>

It is easy for Slider to have a "great" track record.

Just make long, rambling and often incoherent posts with all kinds of predictions. Then go back and tout the ones that went right.

It is all BS, but it fools some people.

And of course anyone who mentions the obvious is clearly an "ankle biter."

;)
