I have Andrea's Romanza CD in Italian so I did not know there was one in Spanish, therefore I do not know if that is the case. It is different enough that one needs some basic study of such differences, but much easier than for example German.

Yes there are differences in vocabulary but grammar is substantially similar. I did studied Italian and German a long time ago, (I actually spoke some German, but that was because I had a couple of German speaking girlfriends, and spent a brief time in Germany).

When it comes to languages, although you need to study the grammar, it is the practice in the country where they speak the language that makes you speak it fluently.

I intent to spent such time in Italy. We shall see.
